Worship is the heart of our life together, all the rest is for the purpose of making that possible, meaningful and uplifting and it is worship that equips us for living out our life in Christ in the world around us. - Rev. E. Heather Benson, Parish Priest.
- We celebrate the Holy Eucharist, Sunday, at 10:00 a.m.
- Holy Days of Obligation & other events at 5:00 p.m., or as scheduled.
- All are welcome to worship with us and take communion.
We are a liturgical and sacramental faith. Our service includes singing - lead by our organist, prayers, readings, and liturgy from the Bible and The Book of Common Prayer. Service bulletins are provided as a guide to the order of service for hymns and liturgy.
An Invitation - If you are visiting for the first time and/or the Episcopal Church is a new experience, someone in our congregation will gladly sit with you and guide you through our service. We are casual in attendance. There is no need to wear a tie, unless you really want too. Unlike some restaurants, we will not cut off your tie and pin it to the wall.
The rich traditions of the Episcopal Church provides for many ways in which individuals can participate in the life of our parish. We welcome the opportunity to include people where they have an active interest. Our parish community includes Eucharistic ministers, readers for scripture, prayer, acolytes, vestry members, altar guild, Sunday School, stewardship, hosting social functions, and fundraisers. Some functions require training before being placed on a schedule, but information is always available through our priest or other members of the congregation.
Coffee Hour - After every Sunday service, we join one another in our parish hall for treats and conversation. Please join us. You'll have an opportunity to meet members of our parish and learn more about St. David's.
We maintain an active prayer list, which is offered to God during our service. If you have intercessions for which you would like our congregation to remember in pray, for yourself or for others, please contact us by submitting the form on the Contact tab.
Caring for others
Caring for others is important to St. David's as we live out our Christian lives. We support various concerns and fundraisers as need arises in our community and the wider world. An important local organization that we support with giving is Foothills Rural Community Ministry of Holland Patent, NY., along with Sara's Pet Pantry. Both ministries work to meet the needs of people and pets with food pantries and other concerns. You can help support these worthy services by contacting, donating, or serving at foothillsruralcommunityministry.org.
St. David's also supports the ministries and aide work by Episcopal Relief & Development Fund. Last year we supported aide to hurricane and other victims of disaster. You can help, support alongside the parishioners of St. Davids, by going to www.episcopalrelief.org.
Children - Sunday School is offered beginning at 10:00 am. We are using the Good News Curriculum. All children are welcome. Sunday School is not offered during the summer season corresponding with the school break. If children would rather stay with their families during Mass, they are welcomed to do so. However, children from Sunday School do rejoin their families in the nave of the church for Holy Communion.
Adults - This year, we are beginning a new program for adults in order to increase our understanding of the Word and what it means to us in order to better live our Christian faith. We eagerly invite anyone to join us. The time to be determined. If you have an interest, please call Tom Sumney at 315-240-1542.
